CHICAGO — A man was accused of setting off a smoke bomb Thursday morning on a CTA Red Line train on the South Side.

Michael Barber, 46, of the 7400 block of South Colfax was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly discharged the firework about 1:15 a.m. on a CTA Red Line train while it was stopped at the 63rd Street station, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

No injuries were reported, Greer said.

Barber was arrested after passengers notified police on a platform, officials said.

About 35 customers in the rail car were transferred to another car, and the train continued in service after a five-minute delay, said CTA officials.
