Dallas Ambush

On July 7, 2016, Dallas police officers were ambushed and fired upon leading to five officers being killed — Sergeant Michael Smith, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, Officer Michael Krol, Officer Patrick Zamarripa and Officer Brent Thompson — and nine others injured. It was the deadliest day for American law enforcement since the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The gunman was ultimately killed by an EOD robot armed with an explosive device.
