GREENSBURG, Pa. — A judge has reversed his own ruling and now says a teenage boy awaiting trial in a Pennsylvania high school stabbing rampage will receive mental health treatment at a juvenile detention center.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review first reported that Westmoreland County Judge Christopher Feliciani changed his ruling Tuesday because he and Alex Hribal’s (RY'-bals) defense attorney couldn’t find a secure mental hospital willing to treat the boy.

Hribal, who turned 17 last week, has been in the detention center since he stabbed 20 students and a security guard at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville on April 9.

The judge last month ruled the boy needed intensive inpatient treatment after two defense experts testified he may be developing schizophrenia.

A prosecution expert had recommended Hribal be seen at the detention center by outside doctors.
