NEW YORK — Later this month the New York Police Department will co-host a virtual symposium about police resiliency. The free, three-day event is open to the international law enforcement community.
The symposium is scheduled for September 22-24. You can register here.
Featured speakers include law enforcement officials and mental health professionals from seven countries. The schedule has been set to accommodate a broad swath of time zones, but all virtual sessions will be recorded for later viewing.
“Everyone deserves positive mental health and to learn research-backed ways to enhance their resilience and this most certainly includes police,” said Detective Jeff Thompson with NYPD in a release. “This symposium is bringing together practitioners and researchers together to do just that.”
See the full three-day agenda here (times are listed in Eastern Standard Time).
The event is co-hosted by Columbia University Irving Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
