Seattle Police Suspend Officer; Part of 4 Year Probe Into Off-Duty Security Work

A Seattle police officer was suspended last night in connection with a four-year investigation into the activities of department police officers who work off-duty at downtown nightclubs.

The 43-year-old patrol officer was summoned to a meeting with his precinct captain and informed he was being taken off duty, according to a high-ranking source with knowledge of the investigation.

The officer has been the subject of an internal investigation and a special criminal inquiry by the King County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI’s Public Integrity Task Force.
