ALCOA, Tenn. — Dash cam released by the Blount County Sheriff’s office shows the DUI arrest of a city manager’s wife that turned violent, WATE reported.

Officers received reports of a hit and run Feb. 27 involving Alcoa City Manager Mark Johnson’s wife, Michelle. After the initial report, police received a second call that Michelle was seen in the median with flashers on and her vehicle spinning in circles.

The dash cam shows the officers approaching after the second crash.

The deputy attempted to talk to Johnson, who was incoherent and made repeated requests that the officers call her husband.

“Do you know my husband Mark Johnson? Why don’t you call him?” Johnson can be heard saying in the video.

When they asked if she could perform a sobriety test, she began to become more upset.

“You need to call my husband,” Johnson said. “My husband is the City Manager of Alcoa. You can call him.”

Officers handcuffed Johnson and put her in the back of the patrol vehicle as she shouted expletives.

“You career is done. Your career is done. What’s your name again?” she said.

When officers finished taking reports, Johnson was asleep in the backseat.

Once in custody, authorities found a pipe with marijuana residue and a beer bottle in Johnson’s vehicle. Inside her purse they found a green, leafy substance and a bag containing medications without prescriptions.

She was released on a $2,000 bond.
