AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. — A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper died Friday in a one-vehicle crash, ABC-17 News reported.
25-year-old Trooper James Bava reportedly radioed-in that he witnessed someone on a motorcycle commit a traffic violation shortly before the crash.
“The death of Trooper Bava is a reminder of the dangers that the members of Missouri’s law enforcement community face each time they put on their uniforms, and how they willingly put themselves in harm’s way,” Gov. Nixon said in a statement.
The cause of accident is undetermined and an investigation is ongoing. Bava is survived by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters, according to ODMP.
