BERNICE, Okla. — An Oklahoma police officer died in the line of duty last month after confronting an armed felon, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page

In a Facebook post, Bernice Police said Officer Matt North went to the hospital with chest pain after finishing his shift on Friday, March 19. He was initially discharged but then returned the next morning, police said. 

North is survived by his wife and two children, according to a GoFundMe page for his family.
