JACKSBORO, Tenn. — A police detective passed away Friday from injuries sustained in a crash January 23.
According to WVLT, police Detective Michael Starrett was en route to the scene of a fatal accident when he collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The driver of the truck was charged with failure to maintain control and failure to exercise due care in connection with the crash.
Starrett was 54, according to ODMP. The 16-year veteran of the Jacksboro Police Department is survived by his wife.
