US Capitol Police Sergeant dies on duty

WASHINGTON — A police sergeant passed away last week while on-duty at the U.S. Capitol.

44-year-old Sgt. Clinton J. Holtz collapsed after suffering an aneurism, according to the Washington Post

Holtz was an avid boater and former professional basketball player, whom friends and colleagues called a “gentle giant.” 

“Sergeant Holtz was an extraordinary model of what it means to be truly dedicated to law enforcement,” Capitol Police Chief Kim C. Dine said in a statement.

WUSA9 reports that Holtz served the US Capitol Police Department for eleven years.
