MARIETTA, Ga. — A Marietta police officer was arrested Tuesday morning by federal DEA agents who raided his east Cobb condominium.

The officer, Isaac Saleumsy, was charged with conspiracy to possess ecstasy with intent to distribute.

Marietta police would only confirm the arrest and charges against Saleumsy, 30, who has been with the department for two years.

Marietta police assisted in the federal investigation, said Officer Mark Bishop, a department spokesman. The department employs 137 officers.

“We are still reeling from this,” Bishop said. “He was a good cop for us. He passed our hiring standards.”

Saleumsy has been suspended pending termination, Bishop said.

He declined to comment further.

A spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration declined to comment, pending a press conference scheduled for Wednesday in Gwinnett County.

Several undercover vehicles crowded a street in the Overlook condos, just off of Columns Drive on Tuesday.

Saleumsy was arrested when he drove up to his condo before dawn on Tuesday. Investigators also entered his condo and carted off several boxes of material.

According to Cobb County property records, Saleumsy purchased his condo for $111,000 in January 2006.
