When responding to a bank alarm or robbery in progress call, remember that danger can be lurking outside the building as well as inside. The use of lookout vehicles is common. When approaching the scene, keep an eye out for vehicles that appear to be “out of place” in the lot, vehicles with multiple occupants, occupants who duck down when you approach, occupants who overtly avoid eye contact with you when you approach, occupants shuffling around inside their vehicles and occupants who very clearly appear nervous. Those could be signs that they’re associated with the criminals inside.
