NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia man is facing two counts of murder for the shooting deaths of his wife, Fulton County Deputy Shakeema Brown Jackson, and her brother, Levy Brown, according to FOX 5. Authorities described the Oct. 27 killings as an “alleged domestic incident,” News 11 reported. Jackson was off duty at the time.

According to News 11, Jackson started with the sheriff’s office in 2018 as a detention officer and had become a deputy just one month ago.

“Deputy Jackson is remembered as eager to learn, and always had a positive disposition,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Co-workers say she was bubbly, and, no matter how disrespectful inmates may have been, always greeted them with ‘good morning,’ earning their respect.”

Jaquavia Jackson faces two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to the report.
