COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus police officer was taken to Grant Medical Center Monday after officials say he cut his mouth after biting into a sandwich with glass inside of it.
According to ABC6, the officer bit into his sandwich when he felt a grisly texture and heard a crunching sound. When he looked at the sandwich, he saw the glass and then realized his mouth was bleeding. He is expected to be okay.
The restaurant was shut down as assualt squad investigators conducted interviews.

Detectives are investigating whether the incident was accidental or intentional. No charges have been filed.
The officer’s identity and the restaurant’s name are being withheld as the investigation continues.
