OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The mother of an Overland Park man shot by a Tonganoxie police officer this week does not fault authorities for wounding her son.
“They did their job, and they did it right,” Velda Roberts said Friday.
Police shot Jeff Roberts, 33, about 1 a.m. Thursday outside his mother’s Tonganoxie home. Her son was in a hospital with wounds that are not life-threatening. A police officer is on routine paid administrative leave while the case is investigated.
