HERMON, Maine — A rollover that occurred just after noon Monday in Hermon left the driver in a water-filled ditch, Deputy Michael Parady of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said.

James Green, 63, told police he was on his way home when he lost control of his 1997 GMC Jimmy at around 12:30 p.m. and rolled it near 885 Fuller Road, landing with the driver’s side facing down.

“The vehicle ended up in a ditch in about 6 inches of water,” Parady said.

Emergency responders broke the small SUV’s back window to get Green out of the vehicle, and he was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of minor injuries and later released, the deputy said.

A blood test was done to check Green’s blood alcohol level, and the crash remains under investigation, Parady said.
