NEW YORK — Two NYPD officers made a couple’s Easter unforgettable after helping deliver their baby on the side of the road.
WABC-TV reports that Officers Stephan Koustoubardis and Vincent Chiang responded to a vehicle parked on the side of the road on Easter morning. A pregnant mother was inside the vehicle in midst of child birth.
Koustoubardis said he stepped in and assisted the father “and took care of the rest” while Chiang assisted by “getting stuff to make sure the baby was safe and delivered properly.”

Koustoubardis, who’s been on the force for eight years, and Chiang, a rookie, have never encountered this type of situation before.
“Training kicks in and you focus on doing what you gotta do,” Koustoubardis said.
The parents said the delivery lasted about five minutes and that their baby girl, named Claire, is healthy.
“It feels fantastic, a natural high feeling of being happy in life,” Koustoubardis said.
