BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. — A 10-year veteran of Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a Lifesaving Medal for saving a boy pinned under an ATV.
Deputy Rey Rodriguez received a call of an overturned ATV Wednesday, WTOC reported.
Rodriguez arrived to find 10-year-old Charlie Waters pinned underneath the buggy.
“When I could see the young child, the ATV was sitting right on top of his neck,” Rodriguez said.
He had a new tool in his vehicle that he used to rescue the boy.
“I remembered I’d put a strap in the bag, just in case. It came in handy that day,” he told the news station.
The boy is now recovering at home, according to KSDK.
