MADEIRA, Ohio — Police came to the aid of a deer caught in a soccer net, according to Madeira Police Department’s Facebook post.
Officer Rick Byram and Detective Tim Vogel worked together to free the animal without injury to it or themselves.
“Spoiler alert, it has a happy ending,” they wrote on Facebook.
Madeira Police Department recently responded to a report of a deer trapped in the netting of a soccer goal. Madeira officers routinely respond to reports of animals in distress, and due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals these kind of calls for service can be very hazardous to officers. Great job to Officer Rick Byram and Detective Tim Vogel in safely freeing this deer without injury to the deer or themselves. Also, a big thank you to residents that alerted us to this poor doe that needed our assistance. Their efforts were captured on video by a bystander. ** A warning the video includes images of an animal in distress, but spoiler alert... it has a happy ending. **
