FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Body-worn camera captured the moment Florida deputies, firefighters and good Samaritans jumped into a pond to rescue a driver trapped in a submerged car.
A driver lost control of his car near I-95 and Palm Coast Highway in Flagler County, and landed upside down in a retention pond, CBS 12 reported.
Deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, as well as firefighters and civilians dove into the water to rescue the driver. BWC video shows a deputy pulling the driver out and others bringing him to shore and starting CPR.
“Thanks to everyone’s quick action and bravery, the driver was able to be located quickly and lifesaving measures were immediately given,” said Sheriff Rick Staly on the department’s YouTube post. “We pray the driver makes a full recovery. Thank you to the citizens who also jumped in to help.”
