RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — One of two body cameras currently in use at a North Carolina department captured a suspect stabbing a deputy in the chest with a knife.

According to WFMY, the December disturbance call quickly turned violent. The suspect exited the residence and stabbed a deputy in the chest — body armor prevented the attack from causing serious injury.

"I don't really feel safe going to work without them [body cameras] to be honest with you because it makes me do my job better and I really love them," Sr. Patrol Deputy Jamie Brown, who currently wears one of the cameras out in the field, told WFMY.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was taken into custody after an officer deployed a TASER. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to the report.
