COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman who was initially arrested for disorderly conduct and drug possession faces assault charges after she sprayed a police officer with mace.

In dash cam footage, Quivonna Bonner can be seen yelling at officers from the backseat while handcuffed and without a shirt on.

Court documents obtained by WCMH said that Bonner repeatedly told police she would mace them when they opened the door of the patrol car. She can be seen in the video bringing her hands, still handcuffed, in front of her and grabbing a hidden can of mace.

“Officer Tackett had the rear window cracked and as he got close to try and mace Ms. Bonner, Ms. Bonner reached up and sprayed her mace through the opening of the window at Officer Tackett,” the report states.

The officer dodged the mace and responded by macing Bonner, causing her to drop her bottle of mace. According to WSYX, police found marijuana on Bonner’s person.

Police told WCMH that Bonner’s behavior was so “belligerent and erratic” that she could not be interviewed or processed. She was transported directly to jail.

Bonner was charged with assault on a police officer. She is currently on probation for a 2015 theft.
