WILTSHIRE — Surveillance video captured an officer facing off with a knife-wielding suspect attempting to rob a supermarket.
According to ABC News, 22-year-old James Lewis entered the supermarket February 1 and attempted to grab the store’s cashier.
The Western Daily Press reports officers were quick to respond because the suspect’s father called police prior to the suspect arriving at the shop.
Officers attempted to arrest Lewis as he threatened them with a 10-inch blade. One cop used a shopping basket as a shield from Lewis’ weapon.
The suspect was finally subdued after one officer deployed a TASER. Lewis was charged and sentenced to three years in prison for attempted armed robbery Friday, according to the report.
