LaCROSSE, Wis. — Police released dash cam footage Tuesday of a Dec. 30 shooting of a man who attacked a K-9 and officers with a log chain.
Daniel Lexvold, 37, fled from a domestic disturbance and was wanted on charges of disorderly conduct and bail jumping, according to the LaCrosse Tribune.
When officers commanded Lexvold to exit the vehicle, he refused. When backup responded, he emerged from his truck, swinging a log chain.
He refused orders to drop it, prompting police to fire less lethal rounds to subdue him. Another officer released a K-9, who Lexvold hit with the chain, and another deputy deployed his TASER.
Before retreating to the back of the police vehicle, Lexvold hit the squad car hood with the chain.
While pursuing Lexvold, Officer Ryan Deflorian slipped and fell and Lexvold charged at him. Police fired shots, wounding Lexvold.
Lexvold was treated and released into police custody, the publication reported. He faces three counts of attempted battery of an officer, resisting officers, criminal damage to property, battery to a law enforcement canine, domestic-related disorderly conduct and seven counts of felony bail jumping.
