SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. — A Calif. manufacturer has unveiled a more powerful version of its electric-powered Zero DS Police Motorcycle.
“After seeing the success the 2012 model had in the field, we decided to expand our 2013 police and security offerings. To have the support of so many different law enforcement agencies and security organizations is an incredible honor,” said John Lloyd, Vice President of Global Sales for Zero Motorcycles.
The 2013 versions of the DS and S are about twice as powerful as last year’s versions, according to Autoblog, and can go about 10 percent further on a full charge.
The DS and S can each handle 120 miles of city driving and about 75 miles of highway driving on a single charge, the article said.
“It’s great because it’s very stealthy in nature. It’s quiet, you can sneak up on people, plus it doesn’t annoy the neighbors,” said Officer David Ball of the Scotts Valley Police Department, who tested the new model.
