When standing at the driver’s door of a traffic stop suspect, stand slightly behind the door pillar. This forces the driver to turn their head to look at you and the added discomfort to them may discourage lengthy arguments. More importantly, if they try to open the door quickly to push you into traffic, you will not be struck by it.
