GREENVILLE, SC - A state trooper has been shot and wounded and a man has been arrested after a chase and wreck Thursday morning on Interstate 85 in Greenville County.
Investigators say the suspect was also shot and wounded. Greenville County sheriff’s Lieutenant Tim Ridgeway says the trooper and the suspect are in good condition. Their names have not been released.
Investigators say a trooper tried to pull over a car about 1am. The trooper was shot in the hand as the suspect sped off. The shooting was under investigation.
Troopers and Greenville County sheriff’s deputies joined in the chase, which ended when the suspect’s car hit a tractor-trailer and hit the median.
The truck driver was not hurt.
