PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a 62-year-old woman last week that was “blazing through a school zone,” Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said.

The woman responded by cursing at the deputy and said, “No wonder you people get shot.”

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference Wednesday afternoon after releasing a dash camera video of the exchange between the deputy and Joy Feinberg of Boynton Beach. The story was first reported by The Palm Beach Post.

Bradshaw spoke out about the incident, which he called “totally unacceptable.”

“This was not a confrontation. This was someone trying to help our children,” Bradshaw said of the officer.

Feinberg allegedly was driving 51 mph on Hagen Ranch Road just south of Boynton Beach Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. The school zone has a 20 mph speed limit.

The deputy pulled Feinberg over near Hagen Road Elementary School. The officer can be seen in the video handing Feinberg a $606 ticket.

Her response: “You know what? No wonder you people get shot. You’re absolute (expletive).”

The officer thanks her and returns back to his car.

Efforts to reach Feinberg were unsuccessful Wednesday.

“This isn’t a deputy who arrested someone. This isn’t a deputy involved shooting. This isn’t a questionable circumstance,” Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw added that the incident reflects a national trend of disrespect to law enforcement.

“This is the first one I’ve seen on tape, but it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened before,” Bradshaw said.
