You might say whether on the ice or off, when Jackie Spresser sees a violation, she calls it!

Jackie Spresser is a detective for the Northglenn Police Department in Colorado where she has served as a patrol officer, an accident investigator and crisis negotiator.

Raised by parents who grew up in the Detroit, Michigan, area, also known as “Hockey Town,” Jackie learned to love hockey at an early age and played for many years. After Jackie’s “competitive” playing days were over, her father introduced her to officiating.

Jackie has successfully officiated world championships in the US, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Italy, Norway, Canada and the Czech Republic. Her passion led her to set her sights on officiating in women’s hockey in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. In preparation, Jackie officiated many games, spent countless hours in the gym, on the ice and in the rule books. However, Jackie’s dream would have to wait.

Fast forward to 2022, Jackie’s determination to reach her Olympic goal has finally earned her a spot with the officiating staff in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and she couldn’t be happier.

Police Chief James May said, “We fully support Jackie in this endeavor and know she will demonstrate the same integrity on the ice as she does in the line of duty!”
