ONTARIO, Canada — Dash camera video released by the Ontario Provincial Police shows a close call as officers directed traffic on a snowy road.
The video shows an officer standing near the side of a roadway. The officer began to run off to the side of the road as he saw the vehicle approaching.

The vehicle can be seen losing control and sliding sideways along the road. It then slides off the road and into a snowdrift, barely missing the officer who had moved off the road for safety.
“Our officers are out in dangerous conditions to keep roads safe,” the police agency stated. “This video from Highway 17 near Wawa on Wednesday shows how quickly things can go wrong. Please slow down, drive to conditions, and give emergency workers space.”
