A man armed with a large knife was shot and killed overnight in Morrow after allegedly charging at Clayton County sheriff’s deputies who were trying to arrest him.
Deputies went to the Morrow College Apartments to serve an arrest warrant on the man for a probation violation. When they entered the man’s apartment, he “came toward the officers with a machete,” said Clayton County Sheriff Stanley Tuggle.
The three deputies then fired at the man, killing him.
The name of the man killed was not immediately released.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to investigate the incident.
