My agency is currently building a new police facility. Ours came about by a sales tax issue. Actually, it was the extension of an existing road improvement sales tax. City leaders were reluctant to consider the issue of a new facility. Our Chief forced their hand, so to speak.The council had said they could renovate our present facility, which was built in the 1960’s. The Chief took it upon himself to learn building code, and the rudimentary elements of home inspection. He was able to show that the cost to bring our facility up to current safety standards was too great, and not fiscally responsible. Any further questions; madams2@mmcable.com
