A Lexington lawyer was indicted by a Fayette grand jury today on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and endangerment, both felonies.

Kirk Bierbauer, a 39-year-old defense attorney, was arrested Dec. 20 outside of Dayton, Ohio, on drug-related charges after he was caught purchasing cold medicine commonly used in the production of methamphetamines.

Lexington police later found meth equipment in the lawyer’s bedroom after searching his mother’s Spring Run Road home. Bierbauer was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and wanton endangerment first degree for creating a “substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to occupants of 1069 Spring Run Road.”

Bierbauer was still in a Montgomery County, Ohio, jail yesterday. An arraignment date for the Kentucky charges has not been set.
