LOS ANGELES — An LA School Police Department officer is scheduled to be arraigned today on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 21-year-old female motorist while on duty.
Prosecutors say 34-year-old Officer Ian King pulled the woman over early on May Third, telling her she had made an illegal U-turn.
The officer reportedly assaulted the woman after telling her he needed to search her.
Prosecutors say she called police later to report the assault and that a passing motorist phoned authorities and reported seeing an officer reaching under a woman’s skirt.
King was arrested that day and released on $$250,000 bail. He’s currently on paid administrative leave.
Prosecutors say King is charged with one count of sexual battery by restraint, among other counts.
He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
