NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A man leading police on a high-speed chase Wednesday died when he crashed a sport utility vehicle into another car, police said.
The chase started when an officer saw drugs being sold in the red SUV in east Nashville, police said. The driver of the vehicle initially stopped, then took off as police approached and led authorities on a chase through downtown Nashville.
Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron told The Tennessean newspaper that the driver of the SUV caused a few cars to crash before a wreck that sent the SUV into a roll, killing the suspect.
Authorities closed a few downtown blocks Wednesday evening as they investigated the crash
