Utah officer injured in motorcycle crash

SANDY, Utah - A Sandy police officer was rushed to a hospital with a broken collarbone after he was thrown from his motorcycle while trying to make a traffic stop Wednesday.

The 3 p.m. crash occurred when a man pulled in front of the motorcycle, which had its lights flashing and siren sounding, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Preston Raban. The motorcycle hit the car’s left bumper and the officer fell.

The officer wasn’t hurt, and he is expected to fully recover. The crash occurred near 700 East and 7700 South.
