KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Trump protester was arrested for abuse of a police service animal, FOX 8 reported.
According an official report obtained by the news site, the officer was mounted on horseback and conducting crowd control outside of a March 12 rally when protesters approached police. The officers instructed protesters to stay on the sidewalk and that’s when the suspect, 29-year-old April J. Foster, approached an officer and his police horse named Dan.
Foster screamed at Dan’s face to try and scare the animal but when that didn’t work, she slapped him in the face.
After striking Dan, Foster ran back into the crowd as police attempted to pursue her.
A photographer with the Kansas City Star told the publication he saw the woman strike the horse.
Police later received a tip that led to Foster’s arrest March 21.
Foster was scheduled to appear in court May 4th.
