BALDWIN, La. — A Baldwin man who police TASERed during an arrest died from excited delirium brought on by drug use, a coroner determined.
Officers used a TASER to subdue Damon Abraham, 33, when he fled from police while handcuffed in May, KATC reported.
Usually excited delirium symptoms are under way when officers arrive, but sometimes a subject seems calm and then suddenly explodes into ED. However the onset occurs, the condition is always high-risk.
The coroner’s report cited “cocaine intoxication” as a cause of death.
