PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania man whose wife fatally shot an FBI agent has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on the drug accusations that brought the agent to their home that day.
Forty-one-year-old Robert Korbe, of Indiana Township, pleaded guilty in May to cocaine trafficking. He was sentenced Friday for that crime and others, including illegal possession of the gun his wife, Christina, used to kill FBI agent Samuel Hicks in November 2008.
A federal judge could have sentenced him to life in prison, but gave Korbe five years more than the minimum. Although Korbe was not being sentenced in the agent’s death, the judge said he bears responsibility for what transpired after in the raid.
Christina Korbe acknowledges shooting the agent, but says she thought he was an intruder.
