PHOENIX — Phoenix dispatchers will soon have a dedicated space to decompress in between emergency calls.
The Phoenix Police Department announced they would add a “quiet room” specifically designed to provide dispatchers a physical space to help them deal with the stress of the job, ABC 15 reported.
The room will include places for dispatchers to sit or lay down and take a moment to collect their thoughts. The idea for the quiet room came about by local Rotary Club members, who wanted to show their appreciation to first responders.
Police Chief Jeri Williams and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego will present the room to dispatchers in an official ceremony.
