PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Christopher Rossi is thought to have killed his 81-year-old father and a 79-year-old Vero Beach woman in the days before inviting police into his home Thursday and shooting himself in the head, according to Port St. Lucie police.
After Rossi, 53, fatally shot himself in his home in the 800 block of Northwest Greenwich Court, police found the body of his father, Peter Rossi, in the garage and the body of Adele Frieda Piazza, of Vero Beach, in a “large container” in the garage.
Peter Rossi, 81, is the cousin of Piazza’s late husband. Peter Rossi and Piazza, 79, routinely visited on the weekends, police stated.
The elder Rossi and his son lived at the Northwest Greenwich Court home.
Piazza’s son called police, asking them to check on his mother after not hearing from her since Sunday.
Investigators didn’t find her at her Vero Beach home. Port St. Lucie police checked at the Northwest Greenwich Court home just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
Investigators say Christopher Rossi invited officers in before grabbing a handgun and shooting himself in the head.
While the case still is being investigated, police suspect Christopher Rossi killed his father and Piazza sometime between Sunday and Wednesday.
