NAPLES, Fla. — A Naples police officer involved in a domestic shooting that left another officer dead remained in the intensive care unit Thursday as police continued to investigate the incident.

She was shot in the face early Wednesday at her home during a domestic incident that killed 10-year-veteran Officer Luis Monroig. The two officers were living together at Young’s home.

Police have yet to release many details regarding the shooting – including how many weapons were fired or who fired the shots.

A third party called 911 to report the incident.

Young has been the subject of multiple internal investigations throughout her career at the department, including an accidental discharge while in pursuit of a suspect in 2011 as well as being one of six accused of engaging in sexual activity while on duty in 2012.
