HODGENVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky State Trooper was killed when he crashed on a rain-soaked roadway Aug. 7, WSAZ reported.
Sgt. David Gibbs lost control of his cruiser around a sharp curve, the department said in a statement obtained by the publication.
Gibbs, 42, traveled into the oncoming lane where he was hit by a jeep driven by a 63-year-old driver. Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
