LA County motorcycle deputy killed in crash

LOS ANGELES COUNTY — A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was killed in a crash Thursday morning, according to NBC 4. The deputy, who was not immediately identified, was on-duty at the time.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the deputy was a member of the motorcycle unit.
“I can confirm this appears to be an unfortunate accident,” Villanueva said in a tweet. “This is all the info I can share at this time. Please be patient as we gather facts.”
Aerial footage from local news helicopters showed a car wreck in the middle of an intersection.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
