Are you capable of thinking like a bad guy?

Think like a bad guy for a few minutes. Ask yourself, “If I had to hide something from being seen or found how would I do it?”

If you wanted to keep a weapon from being seen on your person would you put it in a boot, in your belt under the buckle, in your pockets without the clip being seen? How about a wrist band or head band — could you hide a knife there?

Trying to conceal a firearm where under your shirt, jacket, boot, small of back, front near crotch. How does it feel? Can it be seen? What about in the hood of a hooded shirt or in the big front pocket.

When you take the time to think like a criminal you start to find more contraband and weapons. Plus, the bonus of watching where the hands move around the body. You start to pick up the clues that something is being protected.

People trying to hide a gun tend to body check themselves to make sure it is secure. They will blade away from you area they won’t want you to see, they may drop their arm over the area in an attempt to hide object. Look for the signs. They are there if you know what to look for.

How about the car? Where could you stash a gun in the car so it’s readily available to grab and use — a door panel, glove box, center console, under seat.

Check the rim of a hat for a razor a cuff key or drugs.

To catch a bad guy hiding something from you, you need to think like a bad guy. Watch the hands — trouble comes from the hands. Watch the eyes and how they place their feet may be thinking of attacking or fleeing.

When you understand how they think your chances of finding things go up and so do your survival skills.
