OAKLAND, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol says one person has died and an officer has been wounded in a shooting in Oakland.
CHP Sgt. Trent Cross says the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting Wednesday morning.
Cross says gunfire erupted after officers responded to reports of a robbery, involving multiple suspects, at a Walgreens at about 1:30 a.m. Cross says one of the robbery suspects was killed. Few details were available about the shooting early Wednesday. Authorities were continuing to investigate.
