OWASSO, Okla. — Two officers were injured when a shoplifting suspect crashed her car while attempting to flee.
Police attempted to arrest Bailey Michelle Cargile, 26, for shoplifting from a dollar store Thursday when she tried to flee while an officer was hanging from the window, KRMG reported.
One officer was pinned against another vehicle and hit by debris when Cargile crash into a building. Another officer was injured when Cargile struck him with her car, Tulsa World reported.
Both officers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries and were released Friday. Cargile was treated for her injuries at the hospital as well and is back in police custody.
She is charged with complaints of driving under the influence, aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, reckless driving, resisting arrest, two counts of false impersonation, and of being a fugitive from justice in Kansas.
