HAMPSHIRE, England — Body camera footage released by the Hampshire Constabulary in the U.K. captured a man beating a female officer.
According to the Telegraph, 25-year-old Craig Radbourne attacked Sergeant Kerry Lawrence as she argued with him during a response to a burglary call in July 2014.
Radbourne had been placed in handcuffs and put into the back of a patrol car on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly when he suddenly lunged at the officer. Lawrence’s head was repeatedly slammed into the ground during the vicious assault.
The officer later recovered from her injuries and is back on the force, according to Sky News.
Radbourne was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and sentenced to three years in prison. The judge who viewed the footage described it as “nothing short of sickening.”
