APOPKA, Fla. — A powerful lightning strike nearly hit a Florida LEO.
The Apopka Police Department released surveillance footage of the officer’s close call, Fox News reported. On Tuesday night, the K-9 officer was placing equipment in his patrol vehicle when the lightning bolt struck nearby.
The strike appeared to be so powerful that it turned on the lights on a patrol vehicle in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
The police department building lost power and multiple electrical transformers were damaged, according to FOX 35.
