URBANDALE, Iowa — The communities of Urbandale and Des Moines are in mourning after Sgt. Anthony Beminio and Officer Justin Martin were killed in an ambush attack Wednesday.
A local woman, looking to support the officers, offered food and water in a tearful interaction with an officer.
The woman told the officer it was the “only way she knew how to help.”
“I’m sorry. I’m here for you all. I don’t know what else to do,” she said as the officer gave her a hug.
The officer said that the woman’s prayers were “all they need.”
“I want you to go home to your families because I want my dad to come home to me. And I want my friends to come home to me,” she said.
